Kiezladen "Tacheles"
Our Kiezladen “Tacheles” at Sternstraße 30 is located in the immediate vicinity of Hasselbachplatz in Magdeburg. With Tacheles, we want to create an open space that offers people the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and support each other away from the streetcar station - right in the urban center of the city and without economic barriers.
The daily encounter of people with different everyday practices and life realities can be a cause of conflict on the one hand, but on the other hand this diversity also holds great potential for a lively and mutually supportive neighborhood.
We want to #make space - for residents and visitors of the “Hassel”, for socially and politically engaged people, for those interested in and working in culture of all ages. But especially for people who otherwise usually have to fight for their place because they are affected by discrimination and structural disadvantage in public spaces.
To achieve this, we need to move closer together and take a closer look! We want to promote a constant exchange and networking between neighbors and actors in social life and thus strengthen social cohesion and, in the long term, help to ensure that the interests of those who receive little attention in public discourse are also heard. We want to take a critical look at our own and previously unfamiliar realities of life, listen to each other and learn from each other. The Kiezladen is intended to serve as a place where solidarity can be experienced in practice and made visible in the public space.
Who is allowed in - and who is not
Open and protected at the same time? We dare to perform the balancing act, because a room is only truly open when people can treat each other with respect and feel safe. We want to take discrimination seriously, deal with it and give people affected by it the opportunity to appropriate the space. Therefore we especially invite BIPoC* and FLINTA* people to participate in the design of the space, to get involved and to implement their own projects.
Here is #no place for racism, LGBTQI* hostility, anti-Semitism, sexism, anti-gypsyism, Islamophobia, fascism or hatespeech. In addition, we want to provide barrier-free access for people with disabilities. For any group-related misanthropy you are wrong here!
